New trailer for "Midsommar", the upcoming movie from "Hereditary" director

There are big expectations with Midsommar (2019), the new movie by American filmmaker Ari Aster. His feature directorial debut Hereditary (2018) was named to be one of the best horror films of the last season, a story which strength resided in the simplicity of the story surrounded constantly by a halo of horror and mystery that drove the viewers to a horrific outcome. Hereditary (2018) achieved mixed opinions, some people loved it and some other people felt colder about it. But one thing was for sure, Aster was in the mouth of every horror movies lover and the expectations for upcoming works were high.

Midsommar (2019) tells the story of a young woman who recently suffered the decease of her parents and she decides to travel to Sweden with her friends to visit the isolated hometown of one of her pals. The idea is to attend to a mid-summer festival, “Midsommar” in original Swedish language. But what begins as an idyllic retreat surrounded by intriguing traditions quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult.

Ari Aster, who is also the author of the screenplay, filmed the movie between July and October 2018 only not in Sweden but in Budapest, Hungary. The main cast is formed by a group of international actors with a strong presence of Scandinavian performers formed by Florence Pugh, Jack Reynor, William Jackson Harper, Vilhelm Blomgran, Archie Madekwe, Ellora Torchia, Julia Ragnarsson, Anna Åström, Björn Andrésen, Liv Mjönes, Henrik Norlén, Louise Peterhoff, Isabelle Grill, and Will Poulter.

Midsommar (2019) is scheduled to come out in the USA and UK the first weekend of July. August and September will see the release of the film in the rest of the globe, so you better check out your favorite local theater for official release dates.
