Well, look at the calendar. What day is this? It’s Halloweeen’s eve. And, if it wasn’t because of the global change of plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic we would already have in our theater screens the new entry of the immortal franchise created by John Carpenter more than 40 years ago, Halloween Kills (2021). But, as you must already know, the release of the movie got moved to October 15, 2021. Still, the Blumhouse executives have decided to use this marked day in the calendar to release a new teaser trailer for the second entry of this new trilogy.
Halloween Kills (2021) is the sequel for Halloween (2018), which marked the return of Laurie Strode four decades after she struggled with superhuman masked killer Michael Myers, and it also served as the follow-up for the movie created by John Carpenter in Halloween (1978), leaving aside all the other sequels that happened along the last years. Like it predecessor, both Halloween Kills (2021) and the title closing the new trilogy Halloween Ends (2022) are directed by David Gordon Green, who has also co-written the screenplays together with Danny McBride and Scott Teems.
The film stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle reprising their roles as Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, with James Jude Courtney also portraying Myers. Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Kyle Richards, Nancy Stephens, and Charles Cyphers reprise their roles from the 2018 and 1978 films, with Anthony Michael Hall and Robert Longstreet also joining the cast. The film is produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions banner, alongside Malek Akkad and Bill Block.
