The new Halloween movie, sequel, reboot, however you want to call it, entitled Halloween (2018) and produced by Blumhouse Productions, Miramax and Rough House Pictures, already started filming the past 13th of January. This movie is especially exciting for several reasons. First, because it marks the return of original director and Master of Horror John Carpenter in the involvement of a Halloween film, this time as executive producer. Also, because the original star, the unforgettable Jamie Lee Curtis, is back reprising her role in Halloween (1978), Laurie Strode. And, finally, because almost every rumor involving this new production sounds appetizing. From John Carpenter mentioning how he loves the script and wants to write the film score, the fact that Blumhouse Productions mastermind Jason Blum is personally involved in the project, and the approach of director David Gordon Green wanting to do the scariest and creepiest Halloween title to date.
Danny McBride, the co-writer of this new entry in the saga together with director David Gordon Green, stated that “this is definitely a continuation [of Halloween (1978) and Halloween II (1981)] and a little bit of a reinvention“, he said. “But we’re really trying to take it back to what John Carpenter originally started with and what was so horrifying about it”.
The plot of the film reads “Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago”. That means soon we will have the chance to see the two original stars of the 1978 movie face to face again since Nick Castle has also been confirmed to be back as the legendary Michael Myers.
Together with Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle, Judy Greer, Virginia Gardner, Andi Matichak, Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold and Drew Scheid also star. Halloween (2018) is scheduled to see the light the 19th of October 2018 and be out worldwide the last week of October the latest.
