Netflix will release the horror thriller "The Perfection" next month

Richard Shepard is a filmmaker specialized in comedies and thrillers for both the big and small screen. He has been behind movies like The Linguini Incident (1991), Mercy (1995), Oxygen (1999) or Dom Hemingway (2013), and has been the director of the pilots of TV series like Ringer (2011–2012), Golden Boy (2013), Rosewood (2015–2017), Salem (2014–2017) or Ugly Betty (2006–2010) for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award and Directors Guild of America Award for Best Directing for a Comedy Series. His latest work is a drama thriller with doses of horror entitled The Perfection (2018).

The plot of The Perfection (2018) circles around a troubled musical prodigy called Charlotte who seeks out Elizabeth, the new star pupil of her former school. The encounter sends both musicians down a sinister path with shocking consequences. The director Richard Shepard wrote the screenplay together with Nicole Snyder and Eric C. Charmelo, who already worked together in the crime and mystery series Ringer (2011–2012).

The Perfection (2018) is starred by Allison Williams, the female protagonist of the amazing and creepy Get Out (2017), and is supported by Alaina Huffman, Steven Weber, Logan Browning, Glynis Davies, Winnie Hung, and Graeme Duffy.

The film had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 20 last year where it collected a good bunch of positive reviews. Shortly after, popular streaming platform Netflix purchased the global distribution rights. The selected date for its release as part of the Netflix Originals catalog is next 24th of May.
