No One Gets Out Alive is a 2014 horror novel by British author Adam Nevill. The novel had a quite positive reception being called “a gripping, gruesome bone-chiller with resonant themes, a supernatural edge and an overwhelming sense of malevolence” by The Lancashire Post and was considered “one that’s frighteningly relevant and all the more compelling for it” by Starburst Magazine.

On September 8, 2020, it was announced that Netflix and The Imaginarium, the banner of actor and director Andy Serkis, would produce a film adaptation for the novel, also entitled No One Gets Out Alive (2021).

The story of the film adaptation centers on Ambar, an immigrant in search of the American dream who, after being forced to take a room in a boarding house, finds herself in a nightmare she can’t escape.

The movie has been directed by Santiago Menghini, a filmmaker and visual effect artist who has gained some popularity with his award-winner short films Regret (2020) and Milk (2018). No One Gets Out Alive (2021) is his debut feature film. Jon Croker (The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death (2014), In Fear (2013)) and Fernanda Coppel (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series (2000–2016) and How to Get Away with Murder (2014–2020) TV series) have been in charge of the screenplay.

The main cast for No One Gets Out Alive (2021) is formed by Cristina Rodlo, Marc Menchaca, Victoria Alcock, David Figlioli, David Barrera, Joana Borja, Alejandro Akara, Jose Palma, Mitchell Mullen, and Vala Noren.

The movie is Rated R for some strong violence, grisly images, and language. Netflix has scheduled its release for September 29, 2021. Here you can watch the official trailer for No One Gets Out Alive (2021).
