Netflix releases Indian horror anthology "Ghost Stories" in January

If you are familiarized with the popular streaming service Netflix probably you have seen they support many Asian productions in the terrains of horror and fantasy from Asian countries that normally don’t get much recognition in occidental territories such as Indonesia, Thailand and India. Also, being one of the main worldwide producers of cinematographical material, India is mainly popular for their comedies and dramas, all filled up with music and dancing choreographies, the so-called Bollywood. But every now and then an attractive horror production emerges. And, of course, Netflix has been there, behind what possibly is the most notorious Indian horror anthology of the last years, Ghost Stories (2020).

Ghost Stories (2020) is a collection of four short film segments directed by four of the most popular and award-winner filmmakers of the country Karan Johar, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap (producer nominated for the BAFTA Awards for Best Film Not in the English Language for Dabba (2013)). It also serves as a sequel of the two previous anthologies Bombay Talkies (2013) and Lust Stories (2018), from the same team of directors.

Sobhita Dhulipala, Mrunal Thakur, Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khattar, Divya Dutta, Vijay Varma, Bidita Bag, Raghuvir Yadav, Sharad S. Kapoor, Avinash Tiwary, Kusha Kapila, Aditi Bhatia and Surekha Sikri form the main cast of Ghost Stories (2020). The movie was announced to get into production in April 2019 and shooting started in September 2019.

Netflix has scheduled the release for the film for the 1st of January 2020. Here you can see the first official trailer for Ghost Stories (2020):
