The movie has been directed by awards-winner actress, writer, and director Sonja O’Hara, known for being the star and creator of the Daytime Emmy Awards TV series Doomsday (2016– ), and having debuted as a director of a feature film with the drama thriller Root Letter (2022). Mike Stern is the producer and writer of Mid-Century (2022). Both of them also act in the film in supporting roles.
The main cast in the film is formed by veteran actors Bruce Dern, known for World Gone Wild (1987), The Haunting (1999), Freaks (2018), and small participation in the latest Quentin Tarantino films Django Unchained (2012), The Hateful Eight (2015), and Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood (2019), Stephen Lang, popular in recent films like Avatar (2009), Don’t Breathe (2016) and its sequel Don’t Breathe 2 (2021), Hostiles (2017), Mortal Engines (2018), and VFW (2019), and singer and musician Shane West, who sang for the band The Germs in real life and in their biopic What We Do Is Secret (2007), and has also been part in Dracula 2000 (2000), The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003), Red Sands (2009), The Lodger (2009), and the TV series Nikita (2010–2013), Salem (2014–2017), and Gotham (2014–2019). With them, Vanessa Williams, Sarah Hay, Annapurna Sriram, Sebastian Quinn, Chelsea Gilligan, Bill Chott, Emmy Perry, and Ellen Toland complete the main cast.
Mid-Century (2022) is Rated R for violent content, some language, drug use, and brief nudity.
The movie is distributed by Lionsgate and it’s scheduled for a limited theatrical and digital release on June 17, 2022.
