In the style of the recent and bloody exciting The Furies (2019), and many other titles where humans are hunting other humans, Hunt Club (2022) is a story of power and survival, of killing instincts and deadly leisure. A group of male hunters regularly lure women to their island with the chance to win a large sum of money in a hunt, only to discover that they are the hunted.
It follows Cassandra, played by Mena Suvari, who just lost her girlfriend and daughter and is desperate to find help. In walks Carter, incarnated in Casper Van Dien, offering her the chance to win $100k if she participates in the hunt on his island. She soon finds other women who are there for the cash have been tied up, only to be released as the hunted. With the help of Tessa and Lexi, Cassandra turns the tables on the men showing that women can be better hunters.
Maya Stojan, Will Peltz, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Belkin, Jason London, Jeremy London, David Lipper, and Kipp Tribble complete the main cast.
This is the new movie of awards-winner director Elizabeth Blake-Thomas. This marks her debut in the horror thriller genre after a bunch of drama and family-oriented titles. David Lipper (The Unwilling (2016)) and John Saunders (Beach Massacre at Kill Devil Hills (2016)) have been the writers of the screenplay.
