Malin Akerman and Lorenza Izzo star in tense twisted cult thriller "The Aviary"

The Aviary (2022) is a dark thriller about two women’s desperate attempt to flee the clutches of Skylight, an insidious cult.

Two women flee into the New Mexican desert to escape the clutches of an insidious cult. Consumed by fear and paranoia, they can’t shake the feeling that they are being followed by its leader, a man as seductive as he is controlling. With their supplies dwindling and their senses starting to fail them, they are faced with a horrifying question: how do you run from an enemy who lives inside your head?

This is the debut feature film of the duo of writers and directors Chris Cullari and Jennifer Raite, known for the YouTube Red mini-series 12 Deadly Days (2016– ) and the short film Satanic Panic (2014) (not to be mistaken with Chelsea Stardust’s horror-comedy Satanic Panic (2019).

The Aviary (2022) is starring Malin Akerman, known for her participation in Watchmen (2009) and The Final Girls (2015), and Lorenza Izzo, of Aftershock (2012), The Green Inferno (2013), and Knock Knock (2015) fame. The main cast is completed with Chris Messina and Sandrine Holt.

The movie is Rated R for language and some violent content. It is produced by Marcei A. Brown (Get Out (2017), BlacKkKlansman (2018)), Andrew Miller (Cube (1997), Nothing (2003)), Jessica Rhoades (Sharp Objects (2018), Utopia (2020)), and former Blumhouse Head of Production Jeanette Volturno (The Invisible Man (2020), Halloween Kills (2021)). Saban Films has the distribution rights for The Aviary (2022) and has scheduled it for a theatrical and digital release on April 29, 2022.
