Perhaps she is not as popular as other Asian female action stars like Lucy Liu or Michelle Yeoh but Maggie Q has built a solid career in high-adrenaline films. Having starred in Naked Weapon (2002), Priest (2011), The Protégé (2021), the Nikita (2010–2013) TV series, and Hollywood products like Mission: Impossible III (2006), Live Free or Die Hard (2007), and the Divergent film series, her presence on the screen is synonymous of exciting action choreographies. She is the conducting vehicle in the action thriller Fear the Night (2023), her upcoming movie.

It follows Iraqi war veteran Tes, as she prepares to strike back after a group of home invaders attacks during her sister’s bachelorette party, and she discovers that they are hellbent on not leaving any witnesses behind.

Neil LaBute, a prolific and awards-winner filmmaker known for Nurse Betty (2000), Possession (2002), The Wicker Man (2006), Lakeview Terrace (2008), Death at a Funeral (2010), and House of Darkness (2022), is the writer and director of the movie.

Kat Foster, James Carpinello, Gia Crovatin, Kirstin Leigh, Highdee Kuan, Travis Hammer, Ito Aghayere, Laith Wallschleger, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Brenda Meaney, and Roshni Shukla complete the main cast.

Quiver Distribution is releasing the movie on selected theaters and digital platforms on July 21, 2023.
