“Mad Heidi”: The girl from the alps is back with a vengeance

So, the other day I was attending the Fantasy Filmfest here in Berlin and before one of the screenings, we got exposed to the teaser trailer for a mysterious movie called Mad Heidi (2022), a Swissploitation production. Only with that title, I had all my attention on the screen, but when the trailer ended, after that collage of madness, gore, and Swiss alps activities, I had to learn more about the movie and share it with you guys. So there we go!

In the movie, Swiss mountain girl Heidi is abducted by brutal government troops and must defend herself and fight a war against a cheese-fueled machinery of hate. Not much is revealed in the official plot but one can see the movie is not going to take anything seriously and all will be bet on the crazy side.

Mad Heidi (2022) has been written and directed by Johannes Hartmann and Sandro Klopfstein, a tandem of directors debuting with a feature film. Gregory D. Widmer is also the co-writer.

The main cast in this action horror comedy is formed of Alice Lucy, Max Rüdlinger, David Schofield, Kel Matsena, Pascal Ulli, Almar G. Sato, Katja Kolm, Kaspar Weiss, and Rebecca Dyson-Smith. Oh! And Casper Van Dien is also in!

Mad Heidi (2022) had its world premiere at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival, BIFFF, on September 7, 2022, and the reactions were more than enthusiastic. Also, it is going to be part of the Zurich Film Festival in Switzerland and the Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival in France. The movie will have a selected theatrical release on November 24, 2022, and later will be available on MadHeidi.com.
