Does that mean M. Night Shyamalan is working on two films at the same time? No no, Glass (2019) is going to be a sequel to both Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2017). Short after Split (2017) was out of the cinemas, writer, director and producer M. Night Shyamalan announced via his official Twitter account that his next work would be a crossover with those of his own movies, making the universe created in them even wider.
Blumhouse Pictures will produce this new title that is expected to arrive in theaters in the USA the 18th of January 2019. Pre-production is still not announced to be started, but what we know is that the script is also written by M. Night Shyamalan and that the main actors for Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2017) will reprise their roles ones more time. We will have the chance to see again Bruce Willis as David Dunn and Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price aka Mr. Glass; as well as James McAvoy and Anya Taylor-Joy back to their multiple personality characters.
For many people, including myself, Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2017) are the best movies in M. Night Shyamalan’s filmography, so knowing that those two stories might collide into a single one is by far an interesting thing to hear. Early 2019 is still far in the calendar, but it’s not a bad idea to watch again the films, together with the rest of the titles of the talented Indian filmmaker.
My new film is the sequel to #Unbreakable AND #Split. It was always my dream to have both films collide in this third film.
