Liam Neeson stars in Netflix action-thriller "The Ice Road"

He has stated several times that he is giving up action-thrillers, but Liam Neeson has his face, big physique, and unforgettable voice so attached to the genre that it’s not going to be an easy task to quit. And, yes, the man is not a young kid punching people around the streets of Ireland anymore, but the fans can’t get enough of Neeson and he must oblige while it is still fun to make these films. One of his most recent works is The Ice Road (2021) and it’s coming out this month.

In the movie, after a remote diamond mine collapses in the far northern regions of Canada, an ice driver leads an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the lives of trapped miners despite thawing waters and a threat they never see coming.

This is the new movie of the writer and director Jonathan Hensleigh, known for being behind the cameras in titles like The Punisher (2004), Welcome to the Jungle (2007), and Kill the Irishman (2011), and also the writer of blockbusters like Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995), Jumanji (1995), The Saint (1997), Armageddon (1998), and Next (2007).

Together with Liam Neeson, the main cast is formed by Marcus Thomas, Amber Midthunder, Benjamin Walker, Holt McCallany, Matt McCoy, Martin Sensmeier, Matt Salinger, Chad Bruce, Adam Hurtig, and Laurence Fishburne.

Rated PG-13 for strong language and sequences of action and violence, The Ice Road (2021) is coming out on June 25, 2021, on Netflix. Here you can watch its official trailer.
