"Laid to Rest 3" is in the works and you could participate

There is a bunch of us out there who love gory horror movies, and by definition the subgenre of slasher films. A deranged character chasing a group of people, most of the times good looking and not very smart youngsters, and killing and mutilating them in the most horrifying ways you can imagine. Well, that’s fun. The problem is lately slasher films had become mediocre vehicles for big studios to make easy money with boring and uninteresting products very mild in violence and sickness destinated to a big audience who don’t really understand the beauty of the crimes they have depicted in front of their own eyes. We horror fans want more.

That is why the Laid to Rest films were an oasis between all the mediocrity of insipid slasher films out there. A powerful madman with a catchy name like ChromeSkull, a strong cruel disfigured bastard with a badass mask whose weapons of choice are huge hunter knives. The first movie, Laid to Rest (2009), was a surprise hit in the underground horror circuit, one of those titles all the hardcore fans started to talk about instantly. Its follow up, ChromeSkull: Laid to Rest 2 (2011), brought back the same feeling and helped to certify this was becoming an interesting saga to follow. But then no more ChromeSkull left in sight. Robert Hall, the father of the creature, tried to expand his horror limits with Fear Clinic (2014), but the result was not as positive as expected. And although a third Laid to Rest film was announced a while back it never seemed to materialize.

Now everything points to things have changed. A fundraising campaign will be launched soon on Indiegogo. It is advertised as “From simple pins and shirts to screen used masks, film slates, cameos or even DIE by ChromeSkull’s Knife…If you are a horror fan you can’t afford to miss out. All funds go toward director/FX guru Robert Hall‘s STELLAR Practical FX magic that made the other two films WTF moments so memorable”. Well, that sounds swell! To be murdered violently by Chromeskull is like a dream come true, isn’t it? So if you want to be the first one to know when the fund recruitment starts you can sign up in the official Laid to Rest: Exhumed Indiegogo page here.

The writer, director and special effects master Robert Green Hall published on his official YouTube page this pre-campaign video where he invites all the fans to participate in the making of Laid to Rest: Exhumed.
