Joe Begos is back, and he promises his new effort Christmas Bloody Christmas (2022) is his “biggest and most wild flick yet” with “explosions, blizzards, drugs, sex, violence, super 16mm and a real deal animatronic fucking Robot Santa”, as he posted yesterday in his official Instagram account.
According to the movie’s official plot, it’s Christmas Eve and Tori just wants to get drunk and party, but when a robotic Santa Clause at a nearby toy store goes haywire and begins a rampant killing spree through her small town, she’s forced into a battle for survival.
Crazy…
For those who don’t have his name and crafts in your orbit, Joe Begos might be one of the most young exciting independent filmmakers nowadays. He has been behind Almost Human (2013), The Mind’s Eye (2015), VFW (2019), and one of the best movies I’ve seen this decade, the ultimate spiral of destruction that is Bliss (2019). Again, in Christmas Bloody Christmas (2022), he has been the producer, writer, editor, and director, and he even plays a small supporter role.
The main cast in Christmas Bloody Christmas (2022) is formed by Riley Dandy, Sam Delich, Jonah Ray, Abraham Benrubi, Jeremy Gardner, Graham Skipper, Kansas Bowling, and also includes Dora Madison, forever in love with her after Bliss (2019), and Jeff Daniel Phillips, known for his appearance in the most recent Rob Zombie films Halloween II (2009), 31 (2016), 3 from Hell (2019), and the upcoming The Munsters (2022) where he plays Herman Munster.
After its premiere at Beyond Fest on October 5, 2022, Christmas Bloody Christmas (2022) will also be part of the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, Sitges Film Festival, and more yet to be announced.
