If you thought we were save from Jigsaw’s macabre and deadful challenge traps, you were wrong. The series of films that were suposed to get concluded with Saw 3D (2010) are on the works again with this new movie, currently in production. There is not much more we know about this film that will have the name Saw: Legacy (2017). So far, Tobin Bell is rumored to reprise his most celebrated role as John Kramer / Jigsaw, the conductor character of the whole franchise; a sadistic old man who lost faith in human kind and decided to make his own natural selection process by inducting a group of people into dead or alive situations. All of them, of course, with gory and horrific conclussions.
But in the last days, two confirmed additions to the cast were announced. Two pretty unknown actresses Laura Vandervoort (from TV series Bitten (2014-)) and Hannah Emily Anderson (who guest starred in Lizzie Borden Took an Ax (2014) alongside Christina Ricci and Clea DuVall) have joined the cast of this new nightmare.
Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg, who already did the texts for Piranha 3D (2010), its sequel Piranha 3DD (2012) or Sorority Row (2009), have written this new sequel of the characters created back in 2004 by James Wan and Leigh Whannell. And the direction position is taken by the Spierig Brothers, whose rich imagination in science fiction already brought enjoyable pieces like Predestination (2014) or Daybreakers (2009). So far sounds promising!
Can’t wait to hear more about this new Saw installation. Surely it will bring a good dose of gruesome frights to Jigsaw’s fans around the world. In which we are included, of course.
