Jessica Chastain joins the cast of "X-Men: Dark Phoenix"

Good news from the X-Men universe. Because Jessica Chastain, of the most liked actresses in whatever she does, is joining the cast of the next entry in the franchise, X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2018). In this movie, Jean Grey begins to develop incredible powers that corrupt and turn it into a Dark Phoenix. Now the X-Men will have to decide if the life of a team member is worth more than all the people living in the world. And Chastain will play the villain that wants to exploit the powers of the young mutant for her evil purposes.

Jessica Chastain confirmed herself this fact with a charming Instagram post where she appears pinching the cheeks of now fellow cast mate James McAvoy, with the text “you ready for me up in Montreal? I’m gonna make you cry so hard” and the hashtag #xmen. Well, ladies and gentleman, are we ready for that? Because I am!

As in the last installments of this new generation franchise from the X-Men series, Jennifer Lawrence is Raven / Mystique, James McAvoy is Professor Charles Xavier, Tye Sheridan is Scott Summers / Cyclops, Michael Fassbender is Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto and Sophie Turner is the newby mutant being seduced by the dark side Jean Grey / Phoenix.

Simon Kinberg, an experienced producer of big blockbusters like Jumper (2008), Elysium (2013), Fantastic Four (2015), The Martian (2015) or Deadpool (2016), and some of the latest X-Men films, is writing and directing the movie, which will be his debut film.

Hey @jamesmcavoyrealdeal you ready for me up in Montreal? Im gonna make you cry so hard 😈 #xmen @simondavidkinberg
