After the first trilogy directed by Victor Salva and formed by Jeepers Creepers (2001), Jeepers Creepers 2 (2003), and Jeepers Creepers III: Cathedral (2017) ended, the studios decided to reboot the franchise with a new cast and crew. Victor Salva wouldn’t return as the writer, director, or producer of the films, and Jonathan Breck is not incarnating The Creeper anymore.

The result was Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022). This is the first movie of a new intended trilogy that will serve as a sequel to the original one. Finnish filmmaker Timo Vuorensola, the director of Iron Sky (2012) and its sequels Iron Sky: The Coming Race (2019), and the upcoming The Ark: An Iron Sky Story, was chosen for the director’s chair, and Sean-Michael Argo, writer of Johnny Sunshine Maximum Violence (2008), Fable: Teeth of Beasts (2010), Sineaters (2012), and Cleric (2014), was in charge of the script.

The film unfolds as the Horror Hound festival holds its first ever event in Louisiana, where it attracts hundreds of geeks, freaks, and die-hard horror fans from far and wide. Among them are fanboy Chase and his girlfriend Laine, who is forced to come along for the ride. But as the event approaches, Laine begins to experience unexplained premonitions and disturbing visions associated with the town’s past, and in particular, local legend/urban myth The Creeper. As the festival arrives and the blood-soaked entertainment builds to a frenzy, Laine believes that something unearthly has been summoned and that she is at the center of it.

The main cast is formed by Sydney Craven, Imran Adams, Matt Barkley, Peter Brooke, Ocean Navarro, Gary Graham, Gabriel Freilich, Georgia Goodman, Terry Bird, and Jarreau Benjamin as the new shape of The Creeper.

Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022) is scheduled for a limited theatrical release in the United States from September 19 to September 21, 2022, through Fathom Events, after a dispute for the property of the characters with Myriad Pictures, the producers of the previous films.
