Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral, on the works again

Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral, on the works again

It’s been around 3 years that the rumors of a third part for Jeepers Creepers (2001) were around the net. Fans have been debating if a new episode of the adventures of The Creeper was a good idea or something totally unnecesary. In my personal point of view, and thinking that Jeepers Creepers II (2003) is even better than the first one, my choice would be HELL YEAH! Let’s go for it! But it is well known that the production of this new installment is not being specially easy.

Writer and director of the complete saga, Victor Salva, had some issues with the law in the past. Having been found guilty and served some time for sexual misconduct (a story that we won’t get into detail but you can Wikipedia it), Salva has been away from any legal trouble since 1992. Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral production was set in Canada, with Francis Ford Coppola as executive produce. But canadian authorities denied director’s requests about the “calling for an actress for a character whose stepfather, at 13, made ‘overtures’ at her”, as was reported, and the Union of British Columbia Performers made clear that any and all submissions made by the film would be denied as such. That, pretty much, was the end of the production as it was.

But Victor Salva was determined to bring his new Jeepers Creepers project to life, and the production was relocated to Louisiana, in the USA. Things seem to go smooth now, with the confirmation of Gina Philips returning to her role of Trish, the star in the first film of the series. We’ve also heard that the “BEATNGU” plated van will also return. As well as Jonathan Breck playing The Creeper for the third time.

Jeepers Creepers 3′ will show events on the last day of The Creeper’s twenty-three day feeding frenzy, as the skeptical Sergent Tubbs teams up with a task force hellbent on destroying The Creeper for good. The Creeper fights back in gory glory as its enemies grow closer than ever before to learning the secret of its dark origins”, was quoted in the original exclusive report that appear in website Bloody Disgusting.

At the moment, no more news about the filming of Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral are around. But to have Gina Phillips back is already a good thing to hear. Sadly she refused to appear in Jeepers Creepers II (2003), although her co-star in the original film Justin Long indeed had a cameo. We hope this time the production can stay out of trouble and Victor Salva can close his trilogy. Because we are no one to judge about his personal life, we are here only for the movies, and I wish him the best of lucks with this new output. So you better be ready, because The Creeper is coming.
