If you were wondering if James Cameron had retired from the show business because you haven’t heard of him for a while, you were wrong. Very very wrong. Beacuse not only he is working on four (yes, you read well) new sequels of Avatar (2009), now we heard of his latest project. And it sounds the most promising!
This past Saturday, the TV network AMC announced that James Cameron will conduct a new project called James Cameron’s Story Of Science Fiction, consisting of six episodes of a length of one hour each. “With this series, we are going back to the origins of sci-fi, following the DNA of these ideas back to the source. Without Jules Verne and H.G. Wells there wouldn’t have been Ray Bradbury or Robert A. Heinlein, and without them, there wouldn’t be Lucas, Spielberg, Ridley Scott or me” Cameron made public.
And the man must know what he is talking about. After all, he signed some of the most transcendental science fiction films in the history of cinema, like The Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and Aliens (1986), not forgetting another great film like The Abyss (1989). So undoubtedly, the existing of this mini series is great news for all lovers of the genre and movies in general.
According to AMC, James Cameron’s Story Of Science Fiction will air in 2018, probably coinciding with the release of Avatar 2 (2018). James Cameron will take the role of the executive producer, but also will be in front of the camera discussing the contents and conducting interviews.
