Glasshouse (2021) is an independent minimalistic South African science-fiction and drama in the style of Into the Forest (2015) and A Quiet Place (2018).
In the movie, confined to their glasshouse, a family survives The Shred, a toxin that erases memory. Until the sisters are seduced by a Stranger who shatters their peace and stirs a past best left buried.
This is the debut feature of Kelsey Egan, a short films and music videos director who has also been a stunt artist in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) and Death Race: Inferno (2013). She has also been the author of the screenplay together with Emma Lungiswa de Wet.
Jessica Alexander, Anja Taljaard, Hilton Pelser, Adrienne Pearce, Brent Vermeulen, and Kitty Harris form the main cast of Glasshouse (2021).
The movie had its world premiere at the Fantasia International Film Festival on August 16, 2022. After that, it was also part of Fantastic Fest in the USA, Terror-Fi Film Festival in New Zealand, and Horrorant Film Festival in Greece. Here you can read our review for Glasshouse (2021).
