Probably, the best xmas horror of this year 2022 will be, without much debate, Joe Begos’ Christmas Bloody Christmas (2022). Still, a few other titles are to take into consideration for the season of the annoying Santa Claus, the exaggerated fake good intentions, and the decorated trees, and The Killing Tree (2022) is, surely, one to get on the list.
The movie is set on Christmas Eve, where a widow casts a spell to resurrect her executed husband. However, when the spell goes wrong, the husband is brought back as an Evil Christmas Tree and is hell-bent on getting revenge on the one who caused his execution.
This is the new movie of Rhys Frake-Waterfield, a man who will sound often in the upcoming months for being behind one of the most awaited titles of the next year, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023). He has also been behind Firenado (2022) and The Area 51 Incident (2022), and is the producer of Dragon Fury (2021) and Spider in the Attic (2021).
The main cast in The Killing Tree (2022) is formed by Kelly Rian Sanson, Sarah T. Cohen, May Kelly, Sarah Alexandra Marks, Nikolai Leon, Lauren Staerck, Ella Starbuck, and Gillian Broderick.
With the alternative title Demonic Christmas Tree, the movie is out on digital on November 1, 2022, by Uncork’d Entertainment.
