Searching (2018) was the debut film of writer and director Aneesh Chaganty, a modest although very well built mystery thriller about a concerned father whose 16-year-old daughter goes missing, and he breaks into her laptop to look for clues to find her. The movie achieved a collection of good reviews and even won Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize and Audience Award at Sundance Film Festival 2018. Now, the director is back with his new film, the horror thriller Run (2020).
Run (2020) tells the story of a homeschooled wheelchair-bound teenager who begins to suspect her obsessively over-protective single mother is hiding some sinister secrets that she can never tell to anyone.
Written and directed by Aneesh Chaganty, the movie has also been co-written by Sev Ohanian, who also serves as producer of the film, as well as the two filmmakers did with their previous film Searching (2018). Sarah Paulson, known for Glass (2019), Bird Box (2018), and the American Horror Story (2011– ) TV series, plays the mother, while the debutant in a feature film Kiera Allen is the daughter. Together with them, Onalee Ames, Pat Healy, Carter Heintz, Clark Webster, Conan Hodgkinson, Erik Athavale, and Bradley Sawatzky complete the main cast.
Lionsgate has been in charge of the production of the movie. After being part of the Nightstream Film Festival on October 8, 2020, Hulu is releasing the day today November 20, 2020. Here you can watch the new trailer for Run (2020).
