Portals (2019) is a horror and science-fiction anthology which action is taking place during a series of worldwide blackouts, after which millions of mysterious cosmic anomalies appear everywhere across the planet. While many flee from the sentient objects, some people are drawn toward and into them with horrifying consequences. The movie was created by Chris White for Bloody Disgusting, which already took part of the production of other popular horror anthology films like V/H/S (2012), V/H/S/2 (2013), V/H/S Viral (2014) and Southbound (2015).
The movie consists of 4 segments directed by Timo Tjahjanto (Macabre (2009), Headshot (2016), The Night Comes for Us (2018)), Gregg Hale (producer of The Blair Witch Project (1999)), Liam O’Donnell (Skyline (2010), Beyond Skyline (2017)) and Eduardo Sánchez (The Blair Witch Project (1999), Altered (2006), Seventh Moon (2008), Lovely Molly (2011) and Exists (2014)). The movie is starred by Deanna Russo, Ptolemy Slocum, Neil Hopkins, Michele Weaver, Salvita Decorte, Gretchen Lodge, Keith Hudson, Natasha Gott, Clint Jung, Danielle Lewis, Georgina Blackledge, Paul McCarthy-Boyington, Phet Mahathongdy, Sergio Martinez and Shellye Broughton.
Portals (2019) had its premiere at Beyond Fest early in October. Screen Media has acquired the worldwide distribution rights of the movie and it is set to be released on VoD platforms and limited theaters on October 25th. Here you can watch its official trailer:
