Despite his young age, Kurtis David Harder is one of those filmmakers that has spent all his time in the world of movies. Producer of uncountable music videos and commercials, he has also been director of the movies Cody Fitz (2011) and Incontrol (2017), and producer of other titles like Still/Born (2017), horror documentary Fake Blood (2017), Knuckleball (2018), What Keeps You Alive (2018), Z (2019), and Harpoon (2019). His new movie is Spiral (2019), a horror and mystery thriller a family moving to a small town and suspecting their neighbors hide some dark secrets.
In Spiral (2019), a same-sex couple moves to a small town so they can enjoy a better quality of life and raise their 16-year-old daughter with the best social values. But nothing is as it seems in their picturesque neighborhood. And when Malik sees the folks next door throwing a very strange party, something shocking has got to give.
The movie has been written by the director’s frequent collaborators, Colin Minihan, who has been director of Grave Encounters (2011), Extraterrestrial (2014), It Stains the Sands Red (2016), and What Keeps You Alive (2018), and producer of Still/Born (2017), and John Poliquin, director of Grave Encounters 2 (2012), and also the producer of Still/Born (2017).
Spiral (2019) is starred by Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Ari Cohen, Jennifer Laporte, Lochlyn Munro, Chandra West, Ty Wood, Thomas Elms, Paul McGaffey, and David LeReaney.
Through 2019 and 2020, Spiral (2019) has been part of several film festivals like FrightFest, Ramaskrik Film Festival, Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, Other Worlds Film Festival, Paris International Fantastic Film Festival, Queer Screen Film Fest, Magnolia Independent Film Festival, and BFI Flare where it has collected several nominations and wins.
