"Hillwalkers": They shouldn't have trespassed this man's land

The country of Ireland is still one of the most active producers of thrillers and mystery movies. Perhaps it is for its eery weather, so foggy and chilly, that let the imagination of the people fly. And, also, obviously, because of its rich collection of folklore stories, myths, creatures, and anything else in the world of fantasy that you can think of. But, this time, the peril is not brought by mysterious creatures or occult forces, this time mankind shows its cruel face.

The plot of Hillwalkers (2022) is as simple as direct. When hikers trespass onto private land, an altercation with the landowner descends into violence. Not much more is needed to say.

This is the new movie of producer, writer, and director Tom Cosgrove. This is his debut feature after the horror short films Rógairí (2005), Haunted (2011), and Haunted II (2011).

The main cast is formed by Mark Agar, Elise Brennan, Michael Cloke, Shane Connellan, Áine Flanagan, Aoife Honohan, Elena Kelly, Gerry O’Brien, and Eoin O’Sullivan.

The movie has won the Best Film award in the film festivals European Cinematography Awards, Hollywood Gold Awards, New York Independent Cinema Awards, New York Movie Awards, Paris Film Awards, and Sweden Film Awards.

Hillwalkers (2022) can already be screened on digital platforms like Tubi and Amazon Prime Video. Watch here its official trailer.
