At a first look, a good way to put the independent horror and science-fiction movie Capsules (2023) could be as a hybrid between tragic drug-using titles like Requiem for a Dream (2000) or Trainspotting (1996) with students doing extreme experiments that go very wrong like Flatliners (1990).
The movie tells the story of four chem students who after experimenting with mysterious substances find themselves addicted in the worst way possible: they’ll die unless they take more.
This is the debut feature film of Luke Momo who has also been the co-writer of the screenplay together with his frequent collaborator Davis Browne.
Caroline Potter Shriver, Marcus Fahey, Kate Pittard, Davis Browne, Ben Strate, and David Dotterer are the stars in Capsules (2023).
After being part of the Philip K Dick Film Festival in December last year, the movie is set for a digital release by Cranked Up Films on March 31, 2023.
