This is being a busy year for the tandem of filmmakers formed by brothers Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig. If their latest movie Jigsaw (2017) has already been released in most of the countries with a good enough reception, they are already in the status of post-production of their next movie, Winchester: The House That Ghosts Built (2018), expected to arrive in theaters early next year.
The movie, inspired by real facts, tell the story of the eccentric heiress of the Winchester rifles creator, who believes she is haunted by the souls of people killed by the guns made by her family. After the mysterious deaths of her husband and son, she focuses on building a huge mansion to stay away from all those angry spirits. But although common sense points to the woman have lost her north, a skeptic psychiatrist from San Francisco visits her site to check the mental health of the Winchester woman only to find out she might not be that mad after all.
Helen Mirren plays the eccentric Winchester heiress. Jason Clarke, Sarah Snook, and Angus Sampson accompany her in this creepy story about the ghosts of our conscience chasing us. The movie is written by the Spierig Brothers together with Tom Vaughan.
