Is Luc Besson’s new upcoming movie Anna (2019) some sort of female John Wick? The movie is already completed under severe secrecy and until recently we didn’t know much about the cast or the plot. Beneath Anna Poliatova‘s striking beauty lies a secret that will unleash her indelible strength and skill to become one of the world’s most feared government assassins.
Luc Besson is the author of the screenplay and is also directing and producing via his own company EuropaCorp. Lionsgate is set to handle the distribution under their Summit Entertainment label. The movie has been rated R for strong violence, language, and some sexual content. Principal photography on the film began in early November 2017, and it had an estimated budget of 30 million dollars.
Sasha Luss plays Anna, the title character, and is accompanied by Cillian Murphy, Luke Evans, Helen Mirren, Alexander Petrov, Lera Abova, Nikita Pavlenko, Anna Krippa, Aleksey Maslodudov, Ivan Franek, Adrian Can, Andrew Howard, Sand Van Roy, Réginal Kudiwu, Eric Godon and Jess Liaudin.
