First trailer for horror slasher "Scream VI", coming out this spring

Little by little, the faces of the protagonists of the popular horror saga Scream have been renewing, providing a bunch of young flesh on the screen to ensure a big bunch of potential victims for the serial killer Ghostface in upcoming installments. Only Courteney Cox and her Gale Weathers are left from that original cast that gave birth to one of the most profitable horror franchises of the last decades, Scream (1996). The first movie focused on teenager Sidney Prescott as she comes under attack from a mysterious character dubbed Ghostface while dealing with the anniversary of her mother’s murder. The film went on to be a financial success and received considerable critical acclaim for its deconstruction of the horror genre.

25 years later, and after a gap of 11 years since the previous film Scream 4 (2011), we got to see the light of a new installment in the saga, Scream (2022), the first one in the saga not to be directed by the late Wes Craven. Many of the original actors Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott), Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers), David Arquette (Dewey Riley), and Skeet Ulrich (Billy Loomis) reprised their roles but it also introduced new protagonists to the series, the sisters played by Melissa Barrera (Sam Carpenter) and Jenna Ortega (Tara Carpenter) and the Meeks-Martin twins played by Jasmin Savoy Brown and Mason Gooding.

The departure of Neve Campbell from the saga, although it was due to business reasons and not creative matters, leaves Courteney Cox as the last survivor of the classic movie.

Scream VI (2023) continues with the survivors of the latest Ghostface killings, sisters Samantha and Tara Carpenter and twins Chad and Mindy Meeks, leaving Woodsboro behind and starting a new chapter of their lives in New York City only to again be plagued by a streak of murders by a new Ghostface killer.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who already directed Scream (2022) and are also known for V/H/S (2012), Devil’s Due (2014), Southbound (2015), and Ready or Not (2019), are again directing. James Vanderbilt (Darkness Falls (2003), Zodiac (2007), The Losers (2010), The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), Independence Day: Resurgence (2016), Murder Mystery (2019)) and Guy Busick (Urge (2016), Ready or Not (2019)) repeat as the writers of the screenplay based on the characters created by Kevin Williamson, here as the executive producer.

The main cast in Scream VI (2023) is formed by Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Courteney Cox, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Hayden Panettiere, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra, Liana Liberato, Tony Revolori, Jack Champion, Samara Weaving, Dermot Mulroney, and Henry Czerny.

Scream VI (2023) is set to be released on March 10, 2023, by Paramount Pictures. In June last year, Jenna Ortega said the film would feature a more “aggressive and violentGhostface than in previous entries. Hopefully, those words become a fact.
