First trailer for "Apostle", the new movie from "The Raid" director

Martial arts specialist and filmmaker Gareth Evans became one of the new referents in action flicks thanks to his brutal fast-paced and precisely choreographed movies Footsteps (2006), Merantau (2009), and, overall, the multi-awarded The Raid: Redemption (2011) and The Raid 2 (2014). Now, his new work, horror and mystery Apostle (2018), is about to see the light.

Apostle (2018) tells the story of a man who attempts to rescue his sister who’s been taken by a religious cult. In the year is 1905, Thomas Richardson travels to a remote island to rescue his sister after she’s kidnapped by a mysterious religious cult demanding a ransom for her safe return. It soon becomes clear that the cult will regret the day it baited this man, as he digs deeper and deeper into the secrets and lies upon which the commune is built.

Gareth Evans has written and directed this movie that stars Kristine Froseth, Dan Stevens, Michael Sheen, Lucy Boynton, Bill Milner, Mark Lewis Jones, Elen Rhys and Annes Elwy. XYZ Films produced the movie and Netflix has bought the distribution rights worldwide. The 12th of October the movie will be added as part of the Netflix Originals catalog.
