First teaser for "Summer of 84", the new work from "Turbo Kid"'s filmmakers

The new title from the filmmakers that surprised the world a few years ago with the amazing Turbo Kid (2015), the tandem formed by François Simard, Anouk Whissell and Yoann-Karl Whissell, is already in the state of post-production. Entitled Summer of ’84 (2018), the movie tells the story of a group of teenage friends who suspect that their neighbor police officer is a serial killer, and spend their summertime in the good old 1980s spying on him and gathering evidence. Again, the young trio of filmmakers exploits this love for the retro culture that so many good results they harvested in their previous movie or the wide list of short films they have been producing since over a decade.

The cast is mainly formed by a bunch of young promising actors like Tiera Skovbye, Cory Gruter-Andrew, Caleb Emery, Judah Lewis and Graham Verchere. The screenplay has been the work of Matt Leslie and Stephen J. Smith, and filming took place in Vancouver, Canada.

Experts and fans coincide in stating Summer of ’84 (2018) is one of the most expected movies to be seen in the upcoming Sundance Film Festival. It is scheduled to be screened next 22nd of January, so in a few days we will surely hear more about this film. Meanwhile, the first teaser trailer has seen the light. Check it out here:
