"Firenado": They tried to control the weather but they created a monster of nature

The new year has just started and we already have here one of the most exciting B-movies announced to come: Firenado (2023).

The movie centers on four scientists that uncover a ground-breaking technology capable of controlling the weather. On the first use of the device, it malfunctions and creates a Fire Tornado. As the Firenado leaves a wake of destruction, the group assists in evacuating nearby residents but stumbles upon an organized crime home invasion. Stuck between a rock and a hard place; the group struggles to survive the two threats. But, if that wasn’t enough, an accountant for the mob must escape the whirlwind of fire while being chased by armed robbers.

Quoted as a hybrid between The Day After Tomorrow (2004) and Geostorm (2017) but with a crazy touch, the movie has been directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, in hype for his upcoming movie Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey (2023) and is also behind The Killing Tree (2022) [read our review here] and The Area 51 Incident (2022), and Scott Jeffrey, the creator of an uncountable list of B-movies including The Bad Nun (2018), HellKat (2021), Cannibal Troll (2021), The Mutation (2021), The Curse of Humpty Dumpty (2021), Exorcist Vengeance (2022), and Kingdom of the Dinosaurs (2022). Tom Jolliffe, the writer of Scarecrow’s Revenge (2019), The Legend of Jack and Jill (2021), The Leprechaun’s Curse (2021), Jurassic Island (2022), and Wrath of Van Helsing (2022) among others, has been in charge of the screenplay of Firenado (2023).

The main cast of the movie is formed by Sian Altman, Charlie Boyce, Daniel Godfrey, Leah McInnes, Gordon Joseph Millar, Stephen Staley, Nicola Wright, and Toby Wynn-Davies.

Firenado (2023) is having a digital release on January 3, 2023, and will come out on DVD a month later on February 14, 2023, by Uncork’d Entertainment.
