The Christmas season is getting closer, so Disney is warming up their motors to promote their movies coming out in one of the strongest cinema audience seasons of the year. Many saw the final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) already this weekend before their movie of choice started, and now it’s been made public on the internet.

The Episode IX in the chronological order set on the original saga is opening worldwide on December 19, 2019. It will see the Resistance face the First Order once more, and the end of the ancient conflict between the Jedi and the Sith. This is the final episode of the nine-part “Skywalker saga“.

The main cast of the movie is formed by Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Domhnall Gleeson, Richard E. Grant, Lupita Nyong’o, Keri Russell, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran, Ian McDiarmid, and Billy Dee Williams. This marks the first movie where Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia is based on old footage and computer-generated scenes due to her decease on December 27, 2016 and the return of Billy Dee WilliamsLando Calrissian to the big screen.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) has been produced, directed and co-written by J. J. Abrams, who already was responsible for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (2015). Chris Terrio, writer of Argo (2012), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Justice League (2017), was also co-writer of the screenplay.
