One of the most awaited movies of the year is almost here. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), the follow up for the recent rebirth of the Jurassic Park adventures Jurassic World (2015) will open in cinemas the 7th of June – although American theaters will have to wait until the 22nd of June.
After the demise of the Jurassic World theme park on Isla Nublar, the dinosaurs roam freely on the island for four years until an impending volcanic eruption threatens to destroy the island and the dinosaurs. Claire Dearing, the former park manager, has now founded the Dinosaur Protection Group, an organization dedicated to saving the dinosaurs. Claire teams up with Benjamin Lockwood, the former partner of John Hammond, to launch a dinosaur rescue mission and bring the creatures to a sanctuary that Lockwood has created in America. Claire also convinces Owen Grady, a former dinosaur trainer who worked at the park and her former boyfriend, to join her mission so he can locate Blue, the last remaining of the four Velociraptors that he trained.
The movie is written by Colin Trevorrow, who also co-wrote and directed the previous Jurassic World (2015). The filmmaker worked hand by hand with J.A. Bayona, the director and responsible for this sequel Fallen Kingdom since 2016, after producers saw the big welcoming the return of the dinosaurs park had. Director J.A. Bayona has said that making the film was the biggest challenge of his life, after being acclaimed by his previous titles English-spoken Lo imposible (aka The Impossible) (2012) and A Monster Calls (2016), and Spanish El orfanato (aka The Orphanage) (2007).
Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, Ted Levine, James Cromwell, Rafe Spall, Toby Jones, BD Wong, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Justice Smith and Peter Jason star in the film where Jeff Goldblum reprises his role of Dr. Ian Malcolm from the original 1990s Jurassic Park movies.
