Final trailer for "Brightburn" before coming out this weekend

I just saw the final trailer for BrightBurn (2019), the movie produced by James Gunn, written by his brother and cousin Brian Gunn and Mark Gunn, and directed by his pal David Yarovesky. In it, the melodramatic steps aside to show off a bunched of atrocities performed by a kid from outer space, with superpowers beyond the control and comprehension of humankind, and with the evil will that can swipe off the ground anybody who stays on his way.

The creative team behind Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) have developed this film as a twisted twist on the Superman originally plot story. What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister? Because this movie is not set in terms of fantasy and adventure, but on pure horror. Superhero horror, if I must.

BrightBurn (2019) is starred by Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones, Jennifer Holland, Emmie Hunter, Becky Wahlstrom, Gregory Alan Williams, Steve Agee, and Meredith Hagner. Principal photography began in March 2018 and filming wrapped in May of that same year.

In BrightBurn (2019), Tori and Kyle Breyer are a farm couple trying to have a child, but they cannot. This devastates them, especially Tori. A meteor falls from the sky near their farm with a baby inside. They decide to adopt him, naming him Brandon. Years later, the kid discovers that he has superhuman strength. That same night, Brandon discovers the meteor he arrived in. But something inside of him just had clicked, and things won’t be the same anymore. As Brandon ages, he grows more disobedient and disrespectful towards his step parents. And then people die.

BrightBurn (2019) has been already out since earlier this month in some territories like Hungary, Indonesia or Mexico. This weekend it will open in theaters in Argentina, Brazil, Denmark, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden or the USA, while in Germany, Ireland, France or the UK they will have to wait until June. Yesterday Sony Pictures Entertainment made public the final trailer for the movie, and you can check it out here:
