The new Millennium movie, The Girl in the Spider’s Web (2018), directed by Fede Alvarez, is coming out on theaters soon. In territories like the Czech Republic, Netherlands, Sweden or France will hit theaters at the end of October, while other territories like Brazil, Russia, Spain, UK and the USA it will open the first week of November. Germany is where they will have to wait for a little bit longer, so the opening date is the 29th of November.

In this new film of the saga, the second of the English language entries after David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), underground magazine Millenium has changed owners, and the new managers sentence that journalist Mikael Blomkvist is out of date. Trying to get back his prestige as a fighter investigator, Blomkvist follows the trail of a professor who claims to have private information for the American secret services, he joins forces with hacker outlaw Lisbeth Salander in order to survive in the nest of espionage, crime and corrupt politicians they fall in once again.

Claire Foy, who just won the Emmy award for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown (2016–) TV series, plays Lisbeth Salander. Sverrir Gudnason as Mikael Blomkvist, Sylvia Hoeks, Lakeith Stanfield, Stephen Merchant, Vicky Krieps, Synnøve Macody Lund, Cameron Britton and Andreja Pejic also star. The screenplay has been penned by Steven Knight, Jay Basu and director Fede Alvarez, always based on the popular characters created by Stieg Larsson’s Millenium book series. The filming of The Girl in the Spider’s Web (2018) took place earlier this year in Stockholm, Sweden and Berlin, Germany. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Sony Pictures Entertainment are the main companies behind the production.
