In the mystery horror thriller Deleter (2022), the social media and a supernatural ghost story hold hands to cause true terror to a young woman.
The movie centers on Lyra, an online content moderator who deletes a suicide video made by her co-worker. But the otherwise desensitized woman cannot escape from either her own troubled past or from a mysterious vengeful presence.
This is the new movie from awards-winner Mikhail Red, known for Rekorder (2013), Birdshot (2016), Neomanila (2017), Eerie (2018), Dead Kids (2019), Block Z (2020), and Arisaka (2021). He has also been the writer of the screenplay together with Nikolas Red.
The main cast in Deleter (2022) is formed by Nadine Lustre, Louise Delos Reyes, McCoy De Leon, Jeffrey Hidalgo, Sarah Jane Abad, Billy Villeta, and Madeleine Red.
The movie had its premiere at the Metro Manila Film Festival, on December 25, 2022, where it achieved the MMFF Award for several categories including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actress for Nadine Lustre. Viva Films is producing and distributing.
