Echo Boomers (2020) is a gripping crime thriller filled with pulse-pounding twists and turns, the way we like them. It claims to be based on a true story and, why not? After all, leaders in economic science around the world have been claiming capitalism is not sustainable for much longer, and wealth is clearly awfully distributed. So why wouldn’t you steal some for the ones who have everything and stick it into your middle-low hard-working class pockets?
The movie centers on a recent college graduate Lance Zutterland who leaves school in debt, realizing everything he had worked towards was built on a lie. When he is pulled into a criminal underground operation, he finds his peers fighting the system by stealing from the rich and giving to themselves. With nothing to lose, they leave behind a trail of destruction but with the cops closing in, tensions mount and Lance soon discovers he is in over his head with no way out.
After collecting very good reviews and several nominations and awards with his short film Blood Brothers (2013), Seth Savoy debuts as the director of a feature film with Echo Boomers (2020). He is also the author of the screenplay together with Kevin Bernhardt and Jason Miller.
The cast for Echo Boomers (2020) is headed by Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water (2017), Take Shelter (2011)), and Patrick Schwarzenegger (Daniel Isn’t Real (2019), Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse (2015)). Together with them, Lesley Ann Warren, Alex Pettyfer, Oliver Cooper, Hayley Law, Gilles Geary, Jacob Alexander, and Kate Linder also star.
Echo Boomers (2020) is Rated R for drug use and pervasive language. In September 2020, it was announced that Saban Films acquired the film’s North American distribution rights. The film will be released in theaters, VOD, and digital platforms on November 13, 2020. Here you can watch its final trailer.
