"Devil's Island" and "The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2" are out

Yep, as a matter of fact, these two are very different productions. Devil’s Island (2021) is a small-budget psychological thriller while The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2 (2021) is a horror-comedy from the bottom of Hollywood. But they two have something in common, they are not for everybody although they have their little group of followers, and they both are already out.

Devil’s Island (2021) centers on a young woman who inherits a small island from her grandparents and discovers it has a dangerous history.

This is the tenth production from the father/son producing team of Sean and Taylor King, who are also the writers and directors of the film. They have been behind some TV series and movies including My Alien Girlfriend (2019) or Bad Girls (2020). The main cast is formed by Katt Alexander, Kristjan Sokoli, Pete Berwick, Cliff Yates, Alba Yates, and Danielle Jean Schaefer.

Devil’s Island (2021) is available on Amazon Prime Video since March 15, 2021. Here you can watch the official trailer.

On the other side, The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2 (2021) is the follow-up of horror-comedy Meet the Blacks (2016), a small flick without pretensions that made it big on the box office, centering Carl Black as he gets the opportunity to move his family out of Chicago in hope of a better life, but their arrival in Beverly Hills is timed with that city’s annual purge, where all crime is legal for twelve hours.

In The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2 (2021), after surviving the events of the first film and becoming an author, Carl Black moves his family back to his childhood home in Chicago, where he hopes to continue working on his new book. There, the Blacks encounter their mysterious new next-door neighbor, a pimp whom Carl suspects is a vampire trying to take his family.

As it happened in the first film, The House Next Door: Meet the Blacks 2 (2021) has been co-written and directed by Deon Taylor and stars Mike Epps. Corey Harrell is the co-writer of the story. Katt Williams, Bresha Webb, Zulay Henao, Lil Duval, Michael Blackson, Rick Ross, and Danny Trejo form the main cast.

The movie opened in theaters on June 11, 2021, and it grossed $1 million on its first weekend. Here you can watch its official trailer.
