Of course, when we are young and we watch a lot of horror movies some of those lovely pieces of scary entertainment can accompany us when it’s time to go to bed. That’s always been like that, we love the movies but then we don’t love it so much when they turn into real nightmares. But I guess the girl protagonist of While We Sleep (2021) is having a wilder experience.
A young girl who suffers from a sleep disorder and haunting dreams. After observing a hauntingly familiar abnormal CAT scan of the 13 year old girl, radiologist Nina Evanko battles to find the source of the young girl’s sleeping disorder. What she discovers is darker and stranger than she could have imagined.
The movie has been directed by Andrzej Sekula, an awards winner cinematographer who has been working in classic titles like Reservoir Dogs (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), Four Rooms (1995), American Psycho (2000), or Vacancy (2007), until he made the step and directed the films Fait Accompli (1998), Cube²: Hypercube (2002), and The Pleasure Drivers (2006). The screenplay has been written by Brian Gross, one of the stars of the film, together with Rich Ronat, writer of the Nicolas Cage action-thriller Grand Isle (2019).
The main cast for While We Sleep (2021) is formed by Jacy King, Pavlo Shpegun, Brian Gross, Slava Babenkov, Lyra Irene Gross, Aleksandr Omelyanov, Darya Tregubova, and Oliver Trevena.
