The Welder (2021) takes the very prevalent issue of racism and subtly explores the true horror that is racial division and even offers a solution, albeit a morbid one.

Eliza, a young Latina woman is haunted by a traumatic event she experienced while in the military, so her African American boyfriend takes her to a ranch to help relieve her anxiety and panic attacks. But once there, they find themselves in a fight for their lives as they attempt to elude the demented racial experiments of a doctor gone mad.

David Liz, a filmmaker whose student short film Luz (2010) was awarded the DGA Student Film Award for Best Latino Student Filmmaker, is the director, producer, and co-writer of The Welder (2021). Manuel Delgadillo is also the co-writer of the screenplay.

The main cast for the movie is formed by Camila Rodríguez, Vincent De Paul, Roe Dunkley, and Crist Moward.

The Welder (2021) has won several awards in genre film festivals and has had festivals run including Spooky Empire, Raindance Film Festival, New York City Horror Film Festival, Popcorn Frights Film Festival, and North East International Film Festival. Terror Films has the distribution rights for the movie and is scheduled to release the movie on digital on February 24, 2023, worldwide.
