"Contagion of Fear": A deadly virus spreads rapidly after a train accident

In the end, the recently officially ended crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic ended up being not as lethal and catastrophic as we all first thought, but the fears in those months of alarm, lockdowns, curfews, and all that madness more habitual in movies and other fiction pieces than in the real life is still too close, dramatically close. Contagion of Fear (2023) is another of the titles probably inspired by the recent pandemic.

In the movie, a catastrophic train derailment sends the city spiraling into chaos. But the derailment is just the beginning. A biological gas attack sees crash survivors collapsing and dying within minutes. And the sickness is spreading. Rapidly…

This science-fiction and horror thriller has been described as a hybrid between Contagion (2011) and Outbreak (1995), two titles that were very present in the memory of the world population in the past years of the pandemic.

This is the new work of the director and producer Enzo Tedeschi, known for being the executive producer of the awards-winner post-apocalyptic short film Sammy (2019) and also the director of another biological disaster feature Event Zero (2017). He’s also been the writer of the screenplay together with his frequent collaborators Greta Harrison and Julian Harvey.

Andy Rodoreda, Ash Ricardo, Nicholas Hope, Raelee Hill, and Paul Michael Ayre are the main stars in Contagion of Fear (2023).

The movie is premiering on May 16, 2023, in the Film Market section of the Cannes Film Festival.
