Low-budget movies about people running away from dinosaurs seem to never stop since Steven Spielberg opened the box in Jurassic Park (1993). Most of the times they are lame stories and awful CGI, but now and then we get on our hands a flick that although rarely will bring anything original to what we have already seen on the screens many times it can still become an entertaining watching experience. After all, not even the big-budget Hollywood blockbusters of all the Jurassic Park sequels and spin-offs bring anything interesting or new, right?
Claw (2021) is centering on two friends who are forced to spend the night in a ghost town find themselves hunted by a prehistoric predator. This time it is only one dinosaur, but that won’t mean the threat is less. Will they manage to survive?
This is the new movie by Gerald Rascionato, a filmmaker that already has experience in creatures hunting humans for a feast after being the director of sharks survival Open Water 3: Cage Dive (2017) and another killer dinosaur movie Triassic Hunt (2021). He has also been co-writer of the screenplay together with Joel Hogan. The main cast for Claw (2021) is formed by Chynna Walker, Richard Rennie, and Mel Mede.
Claw (2021) had its theatrical release in Canada on June 25, 2021. While we wait for its international release here we can watch its official trailer.
