How many times we have used or heard in movies the expression “mi casa es su casa”, “my home is your home”? Normally that sentence indicates you are a good host and you want to make your visits feel as much comfortable as possible. Right? Well, not anymore.
The Intruder (2019) is a psychological thriller with a good dosage of horrific stress about a young married couple who buys a beautiful Napa Valley house on several acres of land to take their next steps as a family only to find that the man they bought it from refuses to let go of the property. What first looked like a really good deal becomes a nightmare, when the previous owner behaves in the most creepy way. Eventually, the young couple will realize that the man has lots of dark secrets and will have to put a real fight to keep on living.
The movie was written by David Loughery, author of the screenplay for Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) and action thrillers Passenger 57 (1992), Money Train (1995) and Lakeview Terrace (2008). Deon Taylor, director of horror thrillers most of the times with a strong racial and social background like Dead Tone (2007), Nite Tales: The Movie (2008), Chain Letter (2009), Supremacy (2014) and Traffik (2018), was behind the cameras.
In The Intruder (2019), Meagan Good and Michael Ealy incarnate the young married couple while the always effective Dennis Quaid is the deranged man. Joseph Sikora, Alvina August, Lee Shorten and Carolyn Anderson complete the main cast.
Although the movie is already completed, The Intruder (2019) is not scheduled to have its theatrical release until April next year. Still, Sony Pictures Entertainment has already made public its first official trailer that you can watch here:
