Are you tired of the same old boring advent calendars? A bunch of filmmakers have had a good idea instead of the low-quality chocolates and the cheesy ridiculous figures. What about an advent horror movie anthology? Advertised as “24 days, 24 deaths”, or “24 doors to hell”, Deathcember is a compilation of 24 short films based on the Christmas season written, directed and starred by a good collection of interesting names in the horror scene.
In the official site of the movie, http://www.deathcembermovie.com, the official concept has been described as:
Advent – the season of joyous anticipation. Remember the excitement you felt as a kid every December, being allowed to open up a new door of your Advent calendar 24 mornings in a row, eagerly awaiting the surprise that would be in store for you that day?
The anthology DEATHCEMBER aims at bringing such memories back to life and making them a part of today‘s genre legacy, but with a twisted edge; serving as a cinematic Advent calendar full of horror, thrills and black humor.
A collection of 24 short films that take a look at the dark side of the festive season. 24 films by international directors with the most diverse ideas, styles and narrative formats; linked by short animated segments that deal with the Advent calendar itself. Behind each door, a new, viciously entertaining story awaits…
Will you dare to open the doors?
The line-up of international filmmakers participating in this project include Saxl, Michael Varrati, Lazar Bodroža, Florian Frerichs, Isaac Ezban, Sonia Escolano, Bob Pipe, Steve De Roover, Jürgen Kling, Ama Lea, Sadrac González-Perellón, Julian Richards, Lee Sang-woo, Vivienne Vaughn, Ruggero Deodato, Sam Wineman, Andreas Marschall, Lucky McKee, Milan Todorović, Pollyanna McIntosh, Rémi Fréchette, Jason A.
