Regarding some interviews for the home release for John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017), director Chad Stahelski has admitted he is already working on the script for a third installment of the John Wick franchise. That is excellent good news, especially after the astonishing ending of the second chapter. And thanks to the great grossing numbers the film achieved, it is to expect the third movie will be the same if not more spectacular than its predecessors.
In John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017), the main character played by Keanu Reeves had to fight against a bounty hunters corporation when he finds out they put a price on him. A high octane bullets shower where Reeves share screen with other actors like Ian McShane, Ruby Rose, Common, Claudia Gerini, Riccardo Scamarcio, Lance Reddick, Laurence Fishburne, Tobias Segal, Bridget Moynahan and John Leguizamo. For this third installment, it is rumored that Laurence Fishburne might reprise his role, but also they are talking about the possibility of Carrie-Anne Moss joining the cast. That’s dynamite! The classic trio from The Matrix (1999) together again. Who wouldn’t love to see that? It’s also rumored that Samuel L. Jackson might join as well. Okay, that would be just epic.
So far this is only rumorology, but if all the parts are keen with the idea, it might be just a matter of fitting schedules to see it happening. For the moment, the filmmakers are immersed in the writing process, with the idea of not taking a long time before production begins. As director Chad Stahelski said in the interview, “we’re currently in the middle of writing it [John Wick 3] right now. It’s more of a how fast can we get our shit together. But I would assume that if not by the end of this year, the beginning of next year”.
If 2018 is the year we all get to see John Wick 3, I’ll be more than delighted. For the moment, I’m going to watch the trailer for John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) and wait until my DVD copy of the movie gets home.
