"Carter": A man with no memory is on a dangerous mission

He might have no memory, but apparently, his fighting skills are intact. Because thrown straight into a dangerous mission with full amnesia, a man must escape death while trying to figure out who he is, and how he ended up here.

In Carter (2022), a deadly pandemic originating from the DMZ has already devastated the US and North Korea. The homonymous character awakens two months into the new world situation and has no recollections of his past finds a mysterious device in his head and a lethal bomb in his mouth. A voice in his ears gives him orders to avoid getting killed and he’s thrown into a mysterious operation while the CIA and North Korean coup chase him close.

This is the new movie by South Korean filmmaker Jung Byung-gil, who gained international recognition with his previous action-thriller movies Confession of Murder (2012) and awards-winner The Villainess (2017). He is also the writer of the screenplay together with his brother Byeong-sik Jung.

Martial artist Joo Won, who has a considerable fanbase in South Korea, is the star of the film playing the title role. Andreas Fronk, Sung-Jae Lee, Jeong Sori, and Kim Bo-Min complete the main cast.

The filming of Carter (2022) took place in June 2021 in Osong, North Chungcheong Province in South Korea. It is scheduled for an international release exclusive on the streaming platform Netflix on August 5, 2022.
