Arnold Schwarzenegger and his plans of being Terminator and Conan again

Many people might not know (or don’t wanna know) that Austrian actor and ex-governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently about the start the filming for Triplets, the sequel to the late 1980s title Twins (1988) about a physically perfect but innocent man goes in search of his long-lost twin brother, who is short, a womanizer, and small-time crook. The sequel will be directed by Ivan Reitman, who was also responsible for the first movie. Not only Danny DeVito is also back to reprise his role as Schwarzenegger ‘s pathetic twin but is also the comeback for comedian Eddie Murphy to a big production after a few years in oblivion.

In an interview with Kleine Zeitung regarding the upcoming filming for Triplets, Arnold Schwarzenegger also revealed his plans in being back to 2 of the franchises that helped him become the absolute action superstar he is. “In March next year, I am shooting Terminator 6, James Cameron and David Ellison are back on board and then comes a Conan ”, Schwarzenegger said. We must remember the veteran actor turned 70 years old last month, but allegedly his body still wants some battles.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has played the T800 cybernetic killing machine in 4 movies from the franchise, The Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) and Terminator Genisys (2015), missing only the 4th entry in the franchise Terminator Salvation (2009). Besides that, he has played the role of Conan in the first 2 film adaptations of the popular novel and comic character, Conan the Barbarian (1982) and Conan the Destroyer (1984).

We the fans can do nothing but welcome this news with open arms, and with hopes that the new movies are not as poor as the latest entries in the Terminator and Conan franchises. But Arnie’s age is also a big concern. Because if dignity and quality are not going to be the trademarks for these new upcoming films, maybe is better to leave Schwarzenegger’s legacy as it is and rewatch his classic films over and over again.
