Today we bring here something different. Clownado (2018) is a movie that has been founded via perking platform Indiegogo. What the filmmakers are trying to achieve, and taken from the official project description, is “an original, fresh and exciting Horror film, using all practical special makeup effects, old-school visual effects and a Film Noir style. Something that audiences have not seen before, but that is also nostalgic and familiar”.
The movie, depicted by the creators as having “the vibe of classic horror movies we love. Think Evil Dead (1981), Dead Alive (1992), Bad Taste (1987) and Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) if Lucio Fulci was directing”, is a gory horror science fiction experience where crazed killer clowns take a rampage from hell out for revenge and only blood can quench their savage desire for destruction.
Clownado (2018) has been written and is being directed by Todd Sheets, a horror lover filmmaker involved since the mid 1980s in uncountable productions as writer, director, producer, editor, cameraman, makeup department, special effects creator, set decorator and any other task in the process of making feature films you can think of. His are little underground pieces like Bonehill Road (2017), Dreaming Purple Neon (2016), House of Forbidden Secrets (2013), Fear of the Dark (2005) and segments in Grindsploitation (2016) and its sequel Grindsploitation 2: The Lost Reels (2016). Clownado (2018) is starred by horror b-movies star Linnea Quigley, known for being part of the cast of unforgettable films like Graduation Day (1981), Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984), The Return of the Living Dead (1985) and Night of the Demons (1988). And with her, Eileen Dietz, Julie Anne Prescott, Dilynn Fawn Harvey, Millie Milan, Joel D. Wynkoop, Jeanne Silver, Antwoine Steele and Jenius McGee also star.
The money goal set on the official Indiegogo.com page for the movie already reached their objective, but there are still perking options to invest in the project and get exclusive goods available. As always happen with this kind of ventures, once they achieve the minimum amount of cash to have the go, the more money goes in the bigger budget they will have to hire renowned actors for cameos, bigger stunts and more special effects. But this is not a marketing campaign, this is only a tiny article from a horror fan to horror fans out there, so check out the trailer for Clownado (2018) and then decide:
